Production process
Dissolve the metal terbium in nitric acid, or react with nitric acid by Tb(OH)3, and its hydrate can be crystallized from the aqueous solution. Anhydrous can be obtained by the reaction of Tb2O3 with liquid N2O4.
application
Terbium nitrate has been used in the fractional crystallization separation of rare earth elements, and can also be used to prepare rare earth element complexes. Examples of applications are as follows:
1. terbium nitrate and 1,1,1 & prime;,1 & prime;-tetrakis (pyridine -2-carboxylate) trimethylpropane complex: rare earth ions have unique electronic structure and bonding characteristics, and the coordination number is high and changeable, so rare earth complexes can show unique optical, electrical and magnetic properties. At present, the design and synthesis of functional complexes containing rare earth ions as luminescent molecular devices and fluorescent probes is a hot topic in the research fields of coordination chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. A novel tetrapod ligand 1,1,1 & prime;,1 & prime;-a complex of tetrakis (pyridine-2-carboxylate) ditrimethylpropane (L) and its Tb. The results of elemental analysis show that the ligand and rare earth ions form a 1:1 complex; from the infrared spectrum of the complex, it is inferred that the pyridine carboxylate end group on the ligand L4 side chain in the complex is simultaneously with the pyridine nitrogen atom and the carbonyl oxygen atom Coordination with Tb3, the skeleton ether oxygen atom does not participate in coordination, and part of the nitrate ion is combined with Tb3 in the form of bidentate; molar conductance and thermal analysis results show that, the composition of the complex is [Tb L(NO3)](NO3)2 · 2H2O; Under the excitation of ultraviolet light, the complex emits strong Tb3 characteristic fluorescence; The fluorescence lifetime of Tb3 5D4 energy level in the complex is longer.
2. A method for preparing a carbon nanotube composite material assembled with terbium oxide, comprising the following steps:
1) terbium oxide is dissolved in concentrated nitric acid to prepare terbium nitrate crystals. at room temperature, terbium nitrate crystals are mixed with concentrated nitric acid, carbon nanotubes are added, ultrasonic dispersion is added, and reflux is carried out in an oil bath at 120~140 ℃ for 3~8 hours. when the temperature of the refluxed mixture drops to room temperature, titrate with an alkali solution with a concentration of 15 ~ 70mol/l until the pH value of the solution is 8~10, filter membrane filtration, the filter is washed with deionized water for many times, and then dried at 60~100 ℃ for 5~12 hours to obtain carbon nanotubes assembled by terbium hydroxide;
2) The carbon nanotubes assembled from terbium hydroxide obtained in step 1) are raised from room temperature to 250°C in an inert atmosphere, kept at 250°C for 1 to 2 hours, then raised to 400 to 700°C, kept for 0.5 to 3 hours, and cooled to room temperature in an inert atmosphere, which is a carbon nanotube composite assembled from terbium trioxide.
